  1. Thanks a bunch. I'll probably have to go through it a few more times - as it's hard to retain all that stuff (prefer written material). But a very nice approach.

  2. This was very informative. I need to understand the "brush" technique a little more and opacity. Learning how to select the proper brush, set it correctly for what I want..ie black and white (how do you set that?) AND managing my layers a little better.
I did like how you demonstrated how using the Histogram for adjustment was much better than using the brightness adjustment, and just what you lose when using the brightness adjustment. That was VERY informative.
You didn't mention what graphics program you were using to do all this, I couldn't really tell from the video. I am using PSP, so it looked at if there were subtle tool differences, but I could achieve the same results. I hope this stay uploaded for some time and I know I'll be referring back to it again and again. Thanks.

  3. Hi BodyPure:

I used Photoshop 6.01. Check out the Flickr Orton group discussions for PSP information. I would assume this 3 layer method would work.

On the left side of Photoshop was the brush color picker for foreground and background colors. I left these colors set to the default white and black.

  9. This is a very interesting tutorial. I will have to view it while actually working on a shot to retain all the steps. If you take the time to write the steps down and put them into a PDF I will be sure to download it. Thanks very much.

  10. Great tutorial. I've used the apply/multiply method before with Orton. This looks like it has much more control.

    Thanks!

  11. I've just begun researching this technique. Your video is wonderful! I don't feel like this technique will be too daunting for my level of Photoshop skills after watching your tutorial.

    Thanks!
